I have looked for much information on the web for social studies grades 1-6, and since the curriculum change in 2013 there are few free resources. Trying to find free material on the web has taken hundreds of hours, with little success. Therefore, this year (2015) I am changing all the social studies pages for grades 1-6 and using the Nelson online etexts instead. They have just come out with the online text version for all grades, and they will be added to the Ontario Trillium list soon. This is a better route to go, because this way I’m sure that I’m covering all that is required for this course. Also, the 1 year registration is very reasonably priced at $12.50 per grade. With the initial material there for the children to learn, it is much easier to just find workbooks or free worksheets to reinforce their learning.
Any lessons that were here before 2015, have been deleted and will be updated with daily lessons taken from the online etext. However, this will not be done until I have a child in that grade. That means that for the 2015-2016 school year, only grades 4 & 6 will be done.
